The Challenge
The desktop sportsbook had been ported to mobile via a responsive wrapper — a common mistake that produced a cramped, unusable experience. Operators were seeing 70% of traffic on mobile but less than 40% of bets placed there.
The Approach
A ground-up mobile redesign with native interaction patterns: swipe gestures for bet slip management, bottom-sheet market drawers, and a match view optimised for portrait orientation. Push notification flows were designed as a first-class engagement channel.
The Outcome
Mobile bet rate rose from 40% to 61% of total bets within 12 weeks. DAU increased 28%. App store rating moved from 3.1 to 4.6.
